Despite the proliferation of wierdo domains used by Oz ISPs, I think that there is some benefit in having just one commercial domain for Australian commercial users. I haven't yet read anything on how dual/multiple administration by competitors of the same 2LD might be achieved, but presumably if it's viable, such techniques could as easily be used with the com.au domain as with the biz.au domain. This would benefit from some level of co-operation from Melbourne I.T. and Robert Elz, but seems like a reasonable objective. Michael: Do you as yet have a concrete proposal for the joint administration of a 2LD? (If the answer is "read all of the papers referred to in the proposal", then say so. I'll get it done soon :-)) If so, is such a technique able to be used in concert with Melbourne I.T.? Immediately? Robert Elz (I hope you're reading): How do you view Michael's proposal? What problems do you see with modifying it to be instead the introduction of competitive administration of the com.au domain? -- - Raz "It often upsets a man's God fantasies to have (Misquoted? from ) someone shoot down one of his helicopters."
