Gee AURSC does offer GREAT resolution for ISP's. 9 hops as opposed to 13 and 44 ms as opposed to 315ms. Well, we can see who the "faster" providers are can't we now :) Thanks James, good to see AURSC conforms to RFC 2010 far better than the Legacy Root Servers. Oh BTW you know the Legacy Root Servers are no longer controlled by IANA. Yes, it's going to cause problems shortly because NSI doesn't have authority and nor does IANA. Some RS operators are backing IANA others are backing NSI. Guess it's going to split soon and the data between the two RS networks will be considerably diverse. Watch for updates, you can join the rsctalk mail list which has considerable coverage. Even NASA have joined in the discussion. Internally they have two factions fighting over who actually runs the root server :) THis one is E.ROOT-SERVERS.NET :) This is really boiling up. I can't wait to see what happens over the next few months. September 30 looks like being a very interesting day in the world of DNS. I can assure you however that AURSC won't show any signs of instability of mixed data. NSI and AURSC are entering discussions to ensure the approriate zones are handled at the absolute best. It's possible AHNET will become authoritive in a small way for COM, NET and ORG data in this region.
