Thus this non profit group > will oversee it and get some finance to boot.... No there's an Idea. Give the generic name to auDA and let them sell them at auction to the highest bidder with several conditions. 1)80% of the price go to auDA and other internet Authorities to maintain fast DNS and other services for AUS 2) The purchase price when the name is purchased is the Admin fee on a 12/24 monthly basis for the name whilst ever the person/company has ownership. This would need to be online and open like what sold.com.au conduct. Every one can see all the bids and who they come from. 3)When they no longer require it. eg. Close up shop, Go Bankrupt. It is to go back to auDA for auction and the same applies all over again. This would give all an opportunity to all to be able to buy these generic domain names and would stop them from being sold on by private sale at huge prices and would also stop people from sitting on them hopping to make big money. They still have their Admin fee to pay. This would also solve another problem we have at this point that is an Industry body that has no funds to operate. This would achieve many things at once and also, it would solve the problem with the .com.au policy.
