In one of the RFC's this is stated (can remember which, someone who has the time might search ftp://ftp.isi.edu/in-notes )... only the commerciliastion of the gTLD space have given it a meaning of organizations not-for-profit. When in fact a lot of people use .org for profitable means and this is more than fine if the person feels that .com or .net and now .biz and .info do not reqresent there needs.
