Personally I consider the demand for domain names will increase with the
take up of broadband services where it will be feasible for individuals
and small business to run their own servers for mail etc on ADSL or
other high capacity links.  Especially where static IP addresses are
offered.

If you consider previous processes to have been corrupted then the way
to address your concerns is to make sure you participate and have some
input into the process yourself.

Market forces will ultimately drive both the Industry and AuDA.  At
present in Australia the market is not very knowledgable and there is
not enough competition to allow it to fully influence the decisions but
we will see this change.

Perhaps more work should be done to make sure the DNS operates
correctly.  I've seen a lot of cache poisoning lately and there are
large numbers of badly configured DNS servers out there.
