NAF Faster Than WIPO in Resolving Domain Name Disputes
According to a review of cases resolved in 2002, including
cases filed under the UDRP and STOP, the cases that were
filed with the National Arbitration Forum were resolved
faster than the cases filed with the World Intellectual
Property Organization. For the cases filed in 2002, the
average time from filing to decision for the Forum was 57
days, while WIPO resolved its decisions in an average of 71
days. In addition, from 2000-03, the overall average time
between filing and decision for all Forum cases is 51 days.
A complete review of the filing time for WIPO cases from
2000-03 is not available.

Businesses Face Losing Domains Under New Rules
At its latest board meeting in Rio de Janeiro, the
international governing body which oversees domain name
registration, ICANN adopted 'consensus policies' regarding
the accuracy of WHOIS domain name data which could result
in businesses losing their domains.

infrastructure, a top administration official said Tuesday.

GSA Might Charge for .gov Domain
The General Services Administration (GSA), which
administers the .gov domain, issued a rule Friday that it
reserves the right to "charge for domain names in order to
recover costs of operations." The government currently does
not charge a fee for a .gov domain, which is used by
federal, state and native sovereign nations to promote
government services.
