Well the vendor is a bit dense, viz in reply to query "I didn't know they can't be transferred. I suppose I could cancel my registration of the name then reregister in the buyers name. I think that would be acceptable to most buyers? thanks for pointing that out to me. Regards D..." But looking at the registrar's web site (at https://www.enetica.com.au/register.cgi?action=reg_transfer) I see that it is possible to apply to transfer a domain name with not many questions asked. Is this kosher or have the rules relating .au changed whilst I wasn't looking? It will be recalled that this registrar some time ago quite happily allowed the inward transfer of a domain name from MIT even though the registrant did not exist as an entity and the applicant had no authority. There is at least one domain registered with that registrar after the transfer incident that has a registrant name and details that are completely fictitious - this after the registrar told auDA it could never happen again. cb On 7 Aug 2003 at 13:51, Sean Finn wrote: > a business name with an ABN? > > Surely only a Company or an Individual can have the ABN associated? > the Business Name is just a trading name, isn't it? how can he offload the > ABN? > > If he Can't offload the ABN with the Business Name, then who does the domain > then belong to? > the new Business Name holder, who will have a new ABN? > > Does the domain name travel with the trading name, or the ABN? > > -Sean. > > -----Original Message----- > At > http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2992&item=25484899 > 0 > 8 > > Vendor has an interesting approach. > > > cb > > --------------------------------------------------------------------------- > List policy, unsubscribing and archives => http://www.auda.org.au/list/dns/ > Please do not retransmit articles on this list without permission of the > author, further information at the above URL.
