1) What was the point of this pre-emptive registration?

- to warehouse names so that the Australian public would be denied them

2) Why wasn't the mistake rectified at the time it was discovered?

- because I thought it would give you something to write about 11 months
down the track

use all the registrars rather than the one overseas domiciled one?
