It implies that contrary to your statement there is no modicum of
protection, where the very company yourself and Giles Donovan are
directors of, did infact access the aunic database in a mannner that
would allow you to mass market to it.

I also vaguely remember a female reporter posting an article that
she talked to Giles Donovan back in 2001 and he admitted to using
the database as a source to market to directly for web hosting.

Would you like to comment on that in light of you claim to there
being a modicum of protection?

I am of the opinion that to have a small amount of protection,
oops sorry, a modicum of protection, the organisation providing the
services must be honest and upfront in its dealings.

However I find that your site is misleading:

On that page it clearly gives the impression to the AU public
that an au.com domains is the same as tld's when we all know it isnt.

In previous recent posts you have gone to great lengths to push the
point of a registry with more input from registrars like yourself.
I dont think your current practices or previous actions justifies
that, as far as NetRegistry is concerned anyway.

The entire .com whois db is available for purchase (although there are
restrictions on its use).

.AU does not allow this bulk access, and that provides a modicum of
protection. Do you know if the spam you receive is from your email sourced
from a .com whois record or a .au record?

I'm not sure we would offer the alias system namescout offers - although it
has its merits it has drawbacks too.
